Travel

Flights

We recommend flying into San Francisco or Oakland International Airport. Rideshare, Taxi, or BART can be used to get from the airport into San Francisco.

Hotels

Recommended hotels and room block information coming soon. Check back in a few weeks!

Things to do

These are our recommendations for food, drinks, and activities in the city.
We hope you have a great time here!

Food

Arsicault

Bakery that many people say has the best croissant in the city.

Prubechu

Probably our favorite dinner spot. One of the only Guamanian restaurants in the city, they serve Chamorro dishes that blend Spanish, Filipino and other Pacific Islander influences. We always order the sweet rolls, dry fried chicken wings, and tinaktak to share.

Beit Rima

Arabic comfort food. Get the mezze sampler and Samir’s hand kneaded bread. But honestly, it’s all very good.

Dandelion chocolate

Single origin bean-to-bar chocolate made in SF. If you’re looking for an incredible hot chocolate or other little treat, this is the spot.

Bars

The Page

Our favorite local dive! Cash only.

Madrone Art Bar

Great music and dancing on Mondays (Motown Mondays!) and weekends. Fun fact, this is where Sam and Mike first kissed!

Toronado

Dive with a huge, well sourced beer list and rough-around-the-edges employees. Cash only. The bar might be sold to a new owner soon, hopefully the vibe doesn’t change.

Last Rites

San Francisco has a lot of tiki bars, but this is our favorite. The cocktails are incredible and the whole vibe is like you crashed a plane into the jungle. Mike says “it’s like rainforest cafe for adults”.

Cellarmaker / Rare Barrel

In Sam’s opinion, the best brewery in the bay area. They have a pizza house in the Mission, but their full brewery is in Berkeley. Try the coffee and cigarettes porter!

Activites

Exploratorium

Interactive science museum. GREAT for kids, but also very fun for adults. Sam’s been here many times over the years and has never gotten bored of it.

Cable Car Museum

Free! If you want to learn about San Francisco’s cable car history, this is the spot. It’s located inside one of the powerhouses, so you can see all the working cable car lines moving inside.

Urban hiking

SF has so many parks with hiking trails. On some of them you can even forget entirely that you’re in the middle of a major city (until you step out of the trees and see the view). Our favorites are: Mount Sutro Open Space Reserve, Buena Vista, Glen Canyon, and Land’s end (where Mike proposed!).

FAQ

What is the dress code?

Our wedding will be a formal affair. We encourage floor-length gowns, elegant below-the-knee dresses, and suits with ties. We’d love our guests to dress to the nines in something that excites them — feel free to get creative and don’t worry about being overdressed!

Will the wedding be outside?

No. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be indoors.

Are children welcome?

Due to limited capacity, children are only invited if explicitly named on your invite or if your invite is addressed to "The [Surname] Family."
Thank you for understanding.

If having childcare onsite during the ceremony and reception would be valuable for you, please let one of us know. We can’t make any guarantees yet, but we’re looking into the possibility of having a childcare option.

Can I bring a plus-one?

All invited guests will be named on your invite. Unfortunately, due to limited capacity, we won’t be able to accommodate any other plus-ones.

How do I RSVP?

Return to this website after you receive your formal invite.

What is there to do on Easter Sunday (April 5, 2026) in San Francisco?

A ton! Here’s an example list from 2025 (search for “San Francisco” in the article). You can expect free egg hunts, photo ops with the easter bunny, church services, and other spring festivities.

How’s the weather in San Francisco in early April?

The weather in SF is generally very mild, but it can often feel much colder than the low-to-mid 60s temperature implies. The city also has many microclimates, so temperatures and weather conditions can vary greatly between neighborhoods. We recommend always bringing a light jacket with you and wearing layers!

A note about gifts: your presence is enough!

If you still wish to give a gift, contributions to our Honeymoon Fund would be greatly appreciated. A card box will be available at the wedding, or you can contribute here!
